Aventa presents one of the first masterpieces of the twenty-first century – Philippe Leroux’s hyper-virtuosic VOI (rex), in which live electronics seamlessly integrate the various elements of the score. Leroux’s treatment of the voice is unique, triggering and instigating fascinating exchanges between the acoustic and electronic sound worlds. This concert is presented as part of a larger conference dedicated to the immersive listening experience made possible through binaural technology and takes place at 2PM, Nov. 12 at the Philip T. Young Recital Hall (School of Music, University of Victoria). Aventa has also made arrangements for the November concert to be viewed online for a limited period.
