Markus Lehmann-Horn, Falling (2011)

Markus Lehmann-Horn was born in 1977 in Munich. His early musical studies included piano, guitar and composition. In 2000, he continued his composition studies with Tobias Schneid and from 2003, studied composition for film and television at the University of Music and Theatre. In the fall of 2007 he began a master class in composition with Heinz Winbeck in Würzburg. Markus has received commissions from the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts (2008), Kassel Music Days (2009), Siemens Arts Program (2008) and A•DEvantgarde Festival (2011). He has received numerous awards including the Franz-Grothe Prize in 2009, “Gerhard Schedl Music Theatre Award” of the Neue Oper Wien in 2009, and the Paul Hindemith Prize in 2011.
